We have over 44,500 square feet of Customs bonded warehousing as an Enhanced Remote Transit Shed (E.R.T.S.)

E.R.T.S. are warehouses / depots which are approved by HM Customs and Excise to which goods imported in containers may be removed for entry, examination, and clearance.

E.R.T.S. are popular with groupage consolidators as it allows unpacking of the container with individual customs clearance occuring afterwards. Containers come from the quay to CFS under customs bond.

The main benefit of using an E.R.T.S. facility is that if there is any delay with an importer customs clearing their consignment it will not delay other cargo in the container or lead to large quay rent charges.

We also unload full load containers into bond when the importer / agent has difficulties clearing cargo on quay before quay rent starts, thereby giving the importer / agent more time to clear the cargo through customs.

Although the warehouse is bonded we also unload and store cargoes which do not require UK customs clearance or have been customs cleared on quay. Much of our General Warehousing work is unloading containers and arranging re-delivery to a UK consignee who is not able to unload containers themselves.

Typical cargos that we handle are timber, plywood, cars, cable drums, pipes, steel castings, products for chain stores, boats, hops, peanuts, cashew nuts, tiles and stone. To name but a few.......

We can unload containers and pick and sort individual consignments from the container for re-delivery.

We also load containers for Export with typical cargoes ranging from large diameter steel pipes, construction equipment, cars, motor cycles, caravans and household / personal effects.

We can also lift 20 and 40 foot containers to the floor for ease of loading and unloading when required.
